Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, DEFA1 RNA is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated DEFA1 data layer.
The strongest signal is observed in prostate adenocarcinoma (PRAD), where higher DEFA1 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated DEFA1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
PRAD and GBM are the cancer types where DEFA1 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
