Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, DBIL5P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of DBIL5P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where DBIL5P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types DBIL5P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LIHC, HNSC, and KICH are the cancer types where DBIL5P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
