Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CYP4F8 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of CYP4F8’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where CYP4F8 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types CYP4F8 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as PRAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
COAD, PRAD, and STAD are the cancer types where CYP4F8 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
