Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CYP17A1 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated CYP17A1 data layer compared with 21 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in testicular germ cell tumors (TGCT), where higher CYP17A1 Mutation is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated CYP17A1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
TGCT, PRAD, and ESCA are the cancer types where CYP17A1 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
