Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CXCL12 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated CXCL12 data layer compared with 25 for mass-spec protein and 8 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in esophageal carcinoma (ESCA), where higher CXCL12 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated CXCL12 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
ESCA, BLCA, and UCEC are the cancer types where CXCL12 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
