Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CX3CL1 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 1 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated CX3CL1 data layer compared with 26 for mass-spec protein and 8 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher CX3CL1 mass-spec protein is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated CX3CL1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC show a favorable association.
HNSC are the cancer types where CX3CL1 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
