Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, COL2A1 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 6 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated COL2A1 data layer compared with 22 for mass-spec protein and 7 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where higher COL2A1 mass-spec protein is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated COL2A1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CCRCC and LUAD show a favorable association.
CCRCC, PDAC, and LSCC are the cancer types where COL2A1 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
