Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CNMD RNA is linked to patient survival in 21 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated CNMD data layer compared with 7 for mutation status and 3 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in small cell lung cancer (SCLC), where higher CNMD RNA is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated CNMD expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SCLC and LUAD show a favorable association.

SCLC, LGG, and LUAD are the cancer types where CNMD RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
