Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CKMT1A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 15 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of CKMT1A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where CKMT1A RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types CKMT1A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, COAD, and KICH are the cancer types where CKMT1A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
