Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CHCHD1 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of CHCHD1’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where CHCHD1 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types CHCHD1 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LIHC, KICH, and LUAD are the cancer types where CHCHD1 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
