Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CEROX1 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of CEROX1’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where CEROX1 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types CEROX1 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BLCA and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, BLCA, and KIRP are the cancer types where CEROX1 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
