Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CDKN2A Mutation is linked to patient survival in 8 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated CDKN2A data layer compared with 27 for mass-spec protein and 4 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where higher CDKN2A Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated CDKN2A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC and STAD show a favorable association.
KIRP, PAAD, and LIHC are the cancer types where CDKN2A Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
