Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CDK5R2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of CDK5R2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where CDK5R2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types CDK5R2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD and READ show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUAD, KIRC, and HNSC are the cancer types where CDK5R2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
