Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CD5L RNA is linked to patient survival in 17 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated CD5L data layer compared with 8 for mutation status and 8 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in uveal melanoma (UVM), where higher CD5L RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated CD5L expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LIHC and SKCM show a favorable association.
UVM, LIHC, and SKCM are the cancer types where CD5L RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
