Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CCDC85A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of CCDC85A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where CCDC85A RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types CCDC85A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, LUAD, and LUSC are the cancer types where CCDC85A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
