Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CCDC197 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of CCDC197’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where CCDC197 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types CCDC197 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as PAAD and HNSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRP, KIRC, and THCA are the cancer types where CCDC197 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
