Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CCDC185 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of CCDC185’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where CCDC185 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types CCDC185 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, KICH, and LUAD are the cancer types where CCDC185 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
