Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CCDC136 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of CCDC136’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where CCDC136 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types CCDC136 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BLCA and UCEC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BLCA, KIRP, and UCEC are the cancer types where CCDC136 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
