Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CCDC124 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of CCDC124’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where CCDC124 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types CCDC124 is over-expressed in tumor.

KIRC, COAD, and KIRP are the cancer types where CCDC124 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
