Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CACNA2D1 RNA is linked to patient survival in 24 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated CACNA2D1 data layer compared with 12 for mutation status and 6 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in uveal melanoma (UVM), where higher CACNA2D1 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated CACNA2D1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as BRCA and PAAD show a favorable association.
UVM, BLCA, and BRCA are the cancer types where CACNA2D1 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
