Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CACNA1C RNA is linked to patient survival in 26 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated CACNA1C data layer compared with 11 for mutation status and 1 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where higher CACNA1C RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated CACNA1C expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as KIRC and HNSC show a favorable association.
KIRP, OV, and MESO are the cancer types where CACNA1C RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
