Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, C7orf50 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of C7orf50’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where C7orf50 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types C7orf50 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and PRAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
COAD, HNSC, and LIHC are the cancer types where C7orf50 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
