Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, C3orf56 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of C3orf56’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PAAD), where C3orf56 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types C3orf56 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as PAAD and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
PAAD, BRCA, and LUSC are the cancer types where C3orf56 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
