Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, C2orf83 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of C2orf83’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in breast invasive carcinoma (BRCA), where C2orf83 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types C2orf83 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BRCA and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BRCA, KICH, and THCA are the cancer types where C2orf83 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
