Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, C2CD2L mass-spec protein differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 4 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of C2CD2L’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where C2CD2L mass-spec protein is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types C2CD2L is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as CCRCC and LSCC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
CCRCC, LSCC, and HNSC are the cancer types where C2CD2L tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
