Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, C16orf72 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 1 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated C16orf72 data layer compared with 25 for mass-spec protein and 4 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC), where higher C16orf72 mass-spec protein is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated C16orf72 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LSCC show a favorable association.
LSCC are the cancer types where C16orf72 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
