Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, BUD31P2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of BUD31P2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where BUD31P2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types BUD31P2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
HNSC, BLCA, and LUSC are the cancer types where BUD31P2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
