Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, BTBD19 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of BTBD19’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where BTBD19 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types BTBD19 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and UCEC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRP, KIRC, and COAD are the cancer types where BTBD19 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
