Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, BIRC5 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 1 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated BIRC5 data layer compared with 31 for mass-spec protein and 5 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD), where higher BIRC5 Mutation is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated BIRC5 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
STAD are the cancer types where BIRC5 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
