Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, BIRC3 RNA is linked to patient survival in 26 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated BIRC3 data layer compared with 5 for mutation status and 4 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM), where higher BIRC3 RNA is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated BIRC3 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SKCM and HNSC show a favorable association.
SKCM, KIRP, and HNSC are the cancer types where BIRC3 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
