Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, BHMT Mutation is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated BHMT data layer compared with 22 for mass-spec protein and 3 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in esophageal carcinoma (ESCA), where higher BHMT Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated BHMT expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
ESCA and UCEC are the cancer types where BHMT Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
