Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, BHMT mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated BHMT data layer compared with 22 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where higher BHMT mass-spec protein is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated BHMT expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CCRCC and GBM show a favorable association.

CCRCC, LSCC, and GBM are the cancer types where BHMT mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
