Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, BBS9 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 6 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated BBS9 data layer compared with 22 for mass-spec protein and 9 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher BBS9 mass-spec protein is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated BBS9 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CCRCC show a favorable association.

HNSC, LUAD, and LSCC are the cancer types where BBS9 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
