Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, B4GALT5 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated B4GALT5 data layer compared with 23 for mass-spec protein and 5 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM), where higher B4GALT5 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated B4GALT5 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
SKCM, BRCA, and UCEC are the cancer types where B4GALT5 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
