Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ATP5PD mass-spec protein differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ATP5PD’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where ATP5PD mass-spec protein is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ATP5PD is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as CCRCC and HNSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

CCRCC, HNSC, and COAD are the cancer types where ATP5PD tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
