Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ATP5PBP5 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ATP5PBP5’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where ATP5PBP5 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ATP5PBP5 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, KICH, and KIRP are the cancer types where ATP5PBP5 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
