Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ATP5MC1P6 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ATP5MC1P6’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where ATP5MC1P6 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ATP5MC1P6 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BRCA and BLCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
COAD, LUSC, and BRCA are the cancer types where ATP5MC1P6 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
