Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ASS1P8 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ASS1P8’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where ASS1P8 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ASS1P8 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, KIRP, and COAD are the cancer types where ASS1P8 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
