Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ARL8B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ARL8B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where ARL8B RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ARL8B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LIHC, KIRC, and BLCA are the cancer types where ARL8B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
