Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ARFGEF1 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ARFGEF1’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where ARFGEF1 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ARFGEF1 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LIHC, HNSC, and BLCA are the cancer types where ARFGEF1 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
