Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, AREG Mutation is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated AREG data layer compared with 27 for mass-spec protein and 1 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where higher AREG Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated AREG expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
COAD, SKCM, and GBM are the cancer types where AREG Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
