Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, APOBEC3A Mutation is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated APOBEC3A data layer compared with 22 for mass-spec protein and 5 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), where higher APOBEC3A Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated APOBEC3A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
GBM and LUAD are the cancer types where APOBEC3A Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
