Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ANKRD28 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 8 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ANKRD28’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where ANKRD28 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ANKRD28 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, BLCA, and LIHC are the cancer types where ANKRD28 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
