Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ALG1L RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 16 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ALG1L’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where ALG1L RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ALG1L is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUAD, HNSC, and COAD are the cancer types where ALG1L tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
