Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, AKR1C2 RNA is linked to patient survival in 29 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated AKR1C2 data layer compared with 2 for mutation status and 6 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD), where higher AKR1C2 RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated AKR1C2 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as KIRC and MESO show a favorable association.

STAD, KIRP, and KIRC are the cancer types where AKR1C2 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
