Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, AKR1B1P7 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of AKR1B1P7’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where AKR1B1P7 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types AKR1B1P7 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BRCA and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BLCA, BRCA, and KICH are the cancer types where AKR1B1P7 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
