Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, AKAP14 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 8 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of AKAP14’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where AKAP14 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types AKAP14 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUAD and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUAD, LUSC, and BRCA are the cancer types where AKAP14 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
