Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ACTG1P14 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ACTG1P14’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where ACTG1P14 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ACTG1P14 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.

HNSC, BRCA, and COAD are the cancer types where ACTG1P14 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
