Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ABCB5 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated ABCB5 data layer compared with 23 for mass-spec protein and 7 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher ABCB5 mass-spec protein is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated ABCB5 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
HNSC, UCEC, and GBM are the cancer types where ABCB5 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
