Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, A4GNT RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of A4GNT’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), where A4GNT RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types A4GNT is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUSC and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUSC, KICH, and KIRC are the cancer types where A4GNT tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
